I Became the Obsessed Boss’ Darling: Ch 17 Do You Have an Opinion?

“Apologies, I choked.” Ye Xian smiled, slightly glancing to the left of the Elder Bo.

Bo Tingshen was eating elegantly, as if he never was looking at her.

He really did have a strong aura. Most people can’t stand to hold his gaze. Moreover, she felt guilty already, so she was a wolf’s hunted prey. She could only hope that he was a busy person and could forget about this quickly.

Grandpa Bo: “Eat carefully.”

“Alright, thank you Chairman Bo.”

Cheng Jingshu only ate a few pieces of steak before wiping her lips and standing up. Picking up a delicately wrapped scroll, she walked towards Grandpa Bo with a smile. “Grandpa Bo, I prepared a little gift for your 60th birthday.”

“Oh?” Chairman Bo looked at the scroll in her hands with interest. A butler gently spread out the painted scroll, revealing a detailed landscape painting. The painting’s name was Magnificent Spring, Steady Autumn. A vivid depiction of the vitality of spring on the left molded into golden fruit-laden autumn on the right.

The bright and life-like painting immediately attracted everyone’s attention.

“This is beautiful!”

“Jingshu jiejie really is thoughtful. What a unique gift!”

“What an exquisite piece!”

Everyone praised her while even Grandpa Bo couldn’t help but let out a smile.

“This is the famous artist Xia Hewan’s painting. This is something that money alone can’t buy!”

Ye Xian paused when she heard Xia Hewan mentioned. She looked up.

Cheng Jingshu was smiling coquettishly as she moved her hair behind her ear. She glanced quickly in Jiang Wanze’s direction. “As long as it makes Grandpa Bo happy, then it was worth it!”

“Jingshu, you are too polite. You didn’t need to bring such an precious gift to the gala! How much did it cost?”

“It wasn’t much, it was twenty million. But…this isn’t something money alone can buy.” Meaning, this wasn’t just a gift of money but a gift of effort and thought.

“Xia Hewan’s painting is truly hard to get one’s hands on. You must have had a hard time.”

Ye Xian dropped her chopsticks onto the table when she heard twenty million.

Jiang Wanze’s gaze fell from the scroll to his side. Was Ye Xian doing this on purpose, just to leave an impression on his grandfather?

“What, Ye Xian? Do you have an opinion on this?” Cheng Jingshu turned to look at Ye Xian. Cheng Jingshu only asked as a means of taunting Ye Xian. She didn’t expect Ye Xian to seriously nod his head and say, “I do.”

“What?”

Cheng Jingshu frowned. Grandpa Bo was curious, “Oh? Wanze, is your teammate an art connoisseur?”

“Grandpa, he’s just…” Jiang Wanze was just about to speak when Ye Xian stood up.

Ye Xian walked up to Magnificent Spring, Steady Autumn and observed the signature – Xia Hewan.

Someone is selling copies of her mom’s paintings.

That’s right, Xia Hewan was Ye Xian’s mother, the renowned critically-acclaimed artist and chairperson of the National Art Association.

The real Magnificent Spring, Steady Autumn was one of Xia Hewan’s early works. Currently, it was hanging comfortably in the Ye family living room. There was no way it would show up here.
